Shimla Mirch Pulao Recipe or Capsicum Rice Recipe (शिमला मिर्च पुलाव)

Ingredients for Shimla Mirch Pulao Recipe or Capsicum Rice Recipe : –

  • 1 cup rice(1 कप चावल)
  • 4 capsicums(4 शिमला मिर्च)
  • 1 lemon (नींबू)
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric( ¼ चम्मच हल्दी)
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds (आधा चम्मच सरसों के बीज)
  • 2 ½ teaspoon black gram (आधा चम्मच काला चना)
  • 3 ½ teaspoons Bengal gram (1/2 चम्मच बंगाल चना)
  • 8 red chillies (8 लाल मिर्च)
  • 1 tablespoon peanuts (1 चम्मच मूंगफली)
  • 10 cashew nuts, few curry leaves (10 काजू, कुछ करी पत्ते )
  • 1 ½ tablespoons grated coconut(आधा चम्मच कसा हुआ नारियल)
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds (आधा चम्मच जीरा)
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick (1 इंच दालचीनी छड़ी)
  • 2 teaspoons coriander seeds(2 चम्मच बीज धनिया)
  • 3 tablespoons oil and salt to taste (3 बड़े चम्मच तेल और नमक स्वाद के लिए)


How to Repare Shimla Mirch Pulao Recipe or Capsicum Rice Recipe : –

You have to cut the capsicum into small pieces and set it aside. Now take a frying pan and add one teaspoon oil and bring to heat and when its nice and hot, break six red chillies into halves and put them in it. Now let them crackle next you have to put the cinnamon stick, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, 1 ½ teaspoons Bengal and black gram. Sauté till all the ingredients turn golden brown. Now you have to turn off the flame and set it aside. Once its cool put all the ingredients in a blender and make a fine powder. Now cook the rice till its 3/4th done and then drain off the water. Put it in a big plate and spread out the grains and pour 1 teaspoon oil and mix it all up. Now take another pan and pour the remaining oil and heat the oil. now you have to add the mustard seeds in it and let it crackle. Then break the red chillies into halves and add them too. Next put in the black gram and Bengal gram, Sauté till the grams turn golden brown. Then you have to add the capsicum and cook till it’s done. Put the turmeric and salt to taste also mix the rice. your Shimla Mirch Pulao or Capsicum Rice is ready.
